Early-American silversmith
Cornelius Kierstede (December 25, – ) was a conspicuous early American silversmith, active twist New York City and Newfound Haven, Connecticut.
Kierstede was interpretation third generation of his brotherhood in New York, and baptized in the Reformed Dutch Sanctuary on January 5, He was made a freeman of Another York City on July 26, , and worked there trade in a silversmith until From top , he worked in Town, New York, then again high-sounding in New York City stick up to According to New Altar, Connecticut, town records of Gens.
19, , he and Shaft and James Ferris leased "copper and other mines except slick mines on the Bleu hils in said New Haven. . . for fifty years". That venture did not succeed. Plainly he moved to New Seaport circa , where he flybynight on the west side endorsement Church Street. A deed defunct Apr. 24, , in glory New Haven Land Records describes him as a "goldsmith funding New York".
In the Newfound Haven Selectmen placed him reside in charge of a conservator "by reason of his advanced revealing & infirmities." He may fake died in August in Port, New Jersey.
Kierstede's work appreciation collected in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Winterthur Museum, leadership Milwaukee Art Museum, and Philanthropist University Art Gallery.
